Syracuse (Farrell) is a lonely fisherman, separated from his wife and struggling to connect with his wheelchair-bound daughter, Annie. One day he catches a beautiful woman named Ondine (Bachleda) in his nets.
Annie is convinced that Ondine is a mermaid-like creature from Irish folklore. Soon Syracuse begins to think his daughter may be right, as Ondine begins to transform their lives.

Excellent Irish Film

I really enjoyed this movie. Colin Farrell plays the role of a recovering alcoholc fisherman who finds a woman in his nets while out fishing. Farrell is excellent in this movie and definitely does the script justice. All the cast are talented and do this low budget film justice. The script is well-written and has plenty of Irish humour and wit. The story is usual and interesting. You won't be sitting on the edge of your seat or crying with laughter but you will find yourself falling in love with Ireland all over again.
